-This stretch of the series has more story. The other relied on surprise and non-sense for humor. This is a bit darker. It begins with Ta-kun dropping by to pick up Peppy. We learn that Peppy's brother, Halo, is at the cemetery, with their recently deceased father. Halo is deeply scarred by this and takes a bottle of pills to kill himself, one night. A God named Xerxes arrives and explains that Halo also swallowed one of his ashes, which prevents his death and makes him into a living angel.
-Halo remains in his room for the next week. When a video copy of "Lunatic Party," (actually a doujinshi hentai manga featuring Sailor Moon characters,) arrives, he consents to leave his room. When Halo asks if Peppy sent in their Visa renewals, (the three cast members are Canadians in America,) an Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) agent busts in. They then flee back to Canada.
-Halo, in this series, isn't anymore a representation of myself. He is a real character, Peppy's brother, even. After a suicide attempt, a God saves him, giving him the rank of 2nd Inorganic Angel. Halo is a nice guy and isn't likely to be angered. He's really hard on himself. He is about 18 years old and has the ability to hide his wings and white pupils. He speaks English, French, and a little Japanese.
-Peppy is an Otaku of about 19 years of age. He isn't a bad guy, but he's sometimes mean to Halo. He takes a few of the ashes and becomes a God. He can hide his white pupils and change the length of his hair. He speaks English, Japanese, Gaelic, and a little French.
-Ta-kun is a pirate. In this series, he too is a real character. Ta-kun wears an eye-patch because his eye is miscolored, (red of his malice, yellow of his hatred.) Since all of his bad qualities are trapped in that eye, he is friendly and funny. About 19 years old, he only speaks English. The real Ta-kun and I have a fascination with pirates. I'm sorry to report that Ta-kun is in jail, pending trial.
UPDATE, 08-29-03: Unfortunately, Ta-kun was convicted and is going to spend a long period of time in prison. Our hearts and minds are with him.
UPDATE, 04-19-04: He's out on probation. Hooray for him.
-The series is named after the star of "Peppy the Piping Pirate" because that comic is named after the star of "The Young Adventures of Akira the Panda Bear."
